All Israel Shall Be Saved

By September 28, 2013No Comments

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26 KJV

Verses 25-27 sound very New Testament as God promises to return Israel to their land but also to bring them back completely different than when they were taken out. They were removed because of sin and idolatry, but they will be brought back as a new people. In verse 25, God promises to wash them clean from their sins, this is forgiveness. In verse 26, He promises to give them a new heart, this is conversion. He also promises to put His Spirit in them, this is God’s presence which transforms, empowers, and secures His people, making them His Temple. With His indwelling Spirit, God promises they will conform to His statutes from within, rather than outward compulsion. Of course all believers today enjoy these blessings, but some day all Israel will as well (Romans 11:26).

Lord, I like these verses because they remind me that You never forsake Your promises or people. I understand them to mean You still have an exciting transformation for all of Israel in the future. I also like these verses because they describe what you have done in my life already: You have washed me from my sins, given me a new heart, put You Spirit in me, and enabled be to walk in obedience to You. Thank You for such blessings!
