I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 KJV
What a powerful verse this can be in the life of a Christian who understands and believes its message! As a Christian, when Jesus died on the cross, I was there too; He died in my place, He died for my sins. Roger, the sinner died! All my sins that identified me as a sinner were nailed to the cross forever! Nevertheless, now I live. I live because of my death to sin. I live because of Jesus, who lives in me and makes me alive in a way that was not possible before. I am now alive to God. Sin separated me from God, but when I placed my faith in Jesus Christ and was crucified with Him, I became dead to sin and alive to God. Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us that we might live in Him by faith.
Lord, thank You for taking my sins to the cross that I might truly say I am now dead to sin but alive to God by faith in You. I did not have life until You entered my life and I would not want to try and live any other way.
