Faith That Stands in the Storms

By April 20, 2013No Comments

Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. Acts 27:25 KJV

The Apostle Paul was on a ship as a prisoner headed for Rome. If that wasn’t enough, the ship was in a terrible storm and all feared for their lives. Instead of being a victim of his circumstances, Paul seized upon the situation as an opportunity to stand up for Christ. When things were as bad as they could be, he sought to encourage others with his faith in God. That’s what God wants us to do as well. Instead of just making our lives easy because we are Christians, He wants to use us in the midst of the difficult storms that everyone else has to go through so that our faith can be a shining testimony when people need to see it most. When storms are at their worst our faith should shine at its very best.

Lord, too often I get discouraged when life is not as good as I think it should be, because of this I realize I miss opportunities to provide a shining testimony of the difference You make in life. Help me stand, not only when the sailing is smooth, but especially when it is stormy.
