Someone to Pleas with God

By June 5, 2015No Comments

O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbor! Job 16:21 KJV

Have you ever wished you could just talk with God and let Him know how you feel? That’s how Job was feeling. He was actually pleading his case with God through sackcloth and much crying but he wasn’t sure if he was being heard. I like the fact that even though he was discouraged and wasn’t always sure if God was listening, he continued to talk to God about his pain and circumstances. Job never gives up on God and we will see by the end of the book that God never gives up on Job. He was listening to every word and would have the right response. However, 1 John 2:1 tells us that we do have someone to plead for us with God, Jesus Christ is our advocate. He is ready to plead our case for us.

Lord, Job wasn’t feeling like he was getting through and sometimes I feel the same way. I get discouraged and feel alone. I am grateful for the assurance that You will never forsake me, will always hear me, and will take my case to the Father. Job wanted someone to plead his case, how glad I am to have You as my advocate.
