The Need for Harvest Workers

By November 16, 2013No Comments

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2 KJV

As Jesus toured the cities and villages of the Galilean region, He was touched by the need of the multitudes and spoke concerning the harvest field. The fields, as He saw them, were ready for harvest. This harvest was the salvation of the multitudes through the preaching of the Kingdom of God. It was considered great because so many were ready. Although the Lord had just sent out seventy new workers, the problem then, as now, was that the workers were too few. The workers are those already reached, ready and willing to enter the field. The answer to meet both needs, the great harvest and more workers, is prayer to the Lord. He owns the field, sends out the workers, and prepares the harvest.

Lord, today, the harvest is still great. The work will not get done with the workers we have. The answer is not more work from those already in the field. The answer is more workers to enter the field. Lord, send forth more workers into Your harvest.
