The Only Way to God

Read John 13 – 14

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 KJV

This is one of the most important statements in the Bible. How can we know the way to God? People have come up with a host of complicated and seemingly impossible answers to this question. Most involve knowing the right things, or doing the right things. Jesus makes it far simpler; He is the only way. Some may argue His way is too narrow and unfair. But in fact, it is wide enough for the whole world, and available to all. No one is excluded but those who exclude themselves. Rather than complaining about having only one way, we should be grateful God has provided a sure way. There is no falling short of the goal when we look by faith to Jesus. As the way, Jesus is our path to the Father. His is the way of direct access. As the truth, He is the reality of all the promises of God. As the life, He joins our life to His for eternity. Trust Jesus and He will take you to the Father.

Lord, I am delighted that You showed Yourself as the way, the truth, and the life to me. I had chosen my own way and was lost, You found me and gave me what I could not find on my own: the clear and sure way of salvation.

A question to ponder: When the way to God through Jesus is so simple why do people prefer to attempt their own way to God?
