The Return of Jesus Christ

By October 31, 2013No Comments

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Matthew 24:29-30 KJV

These verses describe the glorious return Christ to the earth. Sitting on the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem, the disciples asked Jesus what would be the sign of His coming. Through the chapter He describes a time of great tribulation, which He associates with the seventieth week of Daniel (Daniel 9:24-27). Immediately after those days of tribulation Jesus will return. His return will be associated with great cosmic events: the sun darkened, stars falling, and the heavens shaken. Then will appear the sign of His coming, Jesus does not indicate what that sign will be, but all on the earth will see it and recognize it, and witness His coming with power and great glory. What a day that will be!

Lord, as the Apostle John says at the end of the book of Revelation (22:20), even so, come, Lord Jesus. We understand that You have a plan for this world that must be kept before Your return, but we do look forward to Your coming to earth once again, and Your reshaping the life of all mankind.
