We Have a Mediator

By June 3, 2015No Comments

For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. Neither is there any daysman betwixt us that might lay his hand upon us both. Job 9:32-33 KJV

In the intensity of his struggles Job fully understood the distance between himself and God. God was holy and he was not. Because of this Job longed for a daysman, a mediator who could come between God and man, someone who could touch both. Job’s desire was answered. 1Timothy 2:5 says there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Jesus is God the Son, but also took on Himself the likeness of man that He might be touched by us and help in our times of need. He especially did this when He went to the cross in our place and died for our sins. Because of what He has done, when facing temptation, or when others are against us, we can go to Him for understanding help.

Lord, what a great privilege You have given unto us! We can go to You in every situation of need and know You both hear and understand. What a shame we fail to use this privilege more often. Help me to go to You in every situation, for You are my Daysman.
