MIDLAND, Mich.—Regular Baptist Builders Club’s board of administrators approved a $20,000 gift for Calvary Baptist Church to help its community recover from a devastating flood this spring and to share the gospel.

“Our pastors, staff, and church family at Calvary say thank you for all you have done and all you have given!” says Pastor Mark Dickerson. “Words cannot adequately express our appreciation for your part in this ministry.”

The church had set a goal of raising $30,000 to assist 300 unchurched families rebuild their homes and to share the gospel with those people. Mark says, “We have had electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and others come in to help rebuild. The opportunities for skilled labor and financial help keep growing as we get our discipleship contacts further into the community. God keeps providing, and we are trusting Him.”

Not only is the church meeting physical needs, but it has also had multiple opportunities to share the gospel with affected families. “Even though there have been many earthly homes lost, we have seen over 30 individuals find assurance of a Heavenly home through Jesus Christ,” Mark says. “Each soul saved is worth more than all the money in the world.”

The work of rebuilding homes will continue for months to come. And even after homes are rebuilt, the work of discipleship, relationship building, and follow-up with those who have professed Christ as Savior will continue.

Regular Baptist Builders Club Director Clare Jewell says this financial gift is a great example of how brothers and sisters in Christ can affect lives for eternity by their generous giving to Regular Baptist Builders Club. “I love it when God brings something beautiful out of a tragedy! Thanks for allowing us to join in this process together,” he says. “Thank you for giving to this ministry.”
