websandbagsJune 2008-Waverly, Iowa

In June 2008 an abundance of rain fell in the Cedar Rapids area of Iowa, causing major flood damage to thousands. You all came to the aid of those affected by this terrible natural disaster. Some of you prayed; others made monetary donations; and then some took food to the GARBC Annual Conference that was later distributed to those in need. BBC is grateful to God for your heartfelt and generous contributions.

Pastor Brian Wilkins and his congregation are also grateful. Their church, First Baptist Church of Waverly, Iowa, sustained extensive flood damage. The Lord has led and provided in special ways during the nine months since the disaster hit the area. Pastor Wilkins recently told BBC Director Michael Nolan, “We are getting closer and closer to actually seeing a finished project on the horizon!” In the future, look for Pastor Wilkins’s complete update on what God has done and is doing at First Baptist Church.
