Clare Jewell, director of Regular Baptist Builders Club and national church planting coordinator for Regular Baptist Churches, returned from a 15-day ministry training trip to Jakarta, Indonesia, for ABWE and Corban University. During his visit he spoke to business college staff, nursing educators, and high school students, faculty, staff, and administrators about becoming servant leaders, leading with emotional intelligence, and leading not only others but themselves.

Clare met with more than 100 student leaders at a Christian school for international and Indonesian students. He focused on how the students could be good mentors to their peers by first leading themselves in following Christ. In addition, he discussed the importance of students understanding themselves and others to facilitate effective interactions with people who are not like themselves.

At the invitation of the director of nursing at Universitas Pelita Harapan, a Christian university in Indonesia, Clare also taught leadership development training with leaders of the nursing faculty during a two-day retreat. Clare says, “Please pray for God to use these opportunities to further the mission of this university, which educates more than 14,000 students in the context of a Christian worldview.”
