SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—Last April, Baptist Builders Club approved Great Commission Baptist Church to receive three years of BBC–USA assistance. During the past year, the church has met weekly in a local community center. Now God has provided for a move to the next phase—space at a shopping center.

While the move is great news, it will take a lot of work to turn the retail space into a church meeting place. Missionary builders Brent and Michelle Howard will arrive in Schaumburg the week of March 28 to oversee the work. Brent has laid out a plan for the renovations, but to accomplish the task, many volunteers are needed.

3 Ways to Volunteer

The first way to volunteer is to pray. Second is to physically help with the renovation if you can do electrical, plumbing, or drywall work, paint, install carpet and flooring, or do general labor. A third way to volunteer is to provide materials for the renovation, such as drywall, light fixtures, toilets, cabinets, tile, carpet, paint, and more.

Work Schedule

Week of March 28: Demolition; begin framing walls
Week of April 4: Demolition of floor for plumbing; rough wire electric
Week of April 11: Drywall and tape; install new ceiling
Week of April 18: Paint/stain doors; paint walls
Week of April 25: Install cabinets, trim, and flooring
