Portland_inlinePORTLAND, Mich.—The Disaster Relief ministry was in the forefront of everyone’s mind at the GARBC Annual Conference that took place June 29—July 3 in Omaha. Many wanted to learn more about the ministry and were particularly concerned for the recovery efforts of First Baptist Church in Portland, Michigan.

First Baptist incurred extensive damage during a tornado a few weeks ago. Pastor Gary Coleman says the church is in a holding pattern as it waits on insurance claims to be processed and engineers to determine the amount that insurance will pay out. Teams will definitely be needed to assist in the rebuilding process. As soon as dates and other details have been determined, they will be made public.
