garbc-gretnaThe Gretna Baptist Church of Gretna, Nebraska, has observed ten years of ministry; more than a hundred guests attended three services on September 9, organized under the theme ‘Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow.” More than one hundred guests attended.

In the first service the church looked back at all God has done, led by Pastor Ridley and his wife Sheryl sharing personal testimonies, and then Pastor Ridley presenting a historical sketch of the church. People in the congregation also share some of their favorite memories of the first ten years.

construction-signIn the second service, Pastor Stan Lightfoot of Rustic Hills Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado gave the congregation a challenge for today entitled, “Facing Insurmountable Challenges.” In the third service members of the congregation shared their dreams of how God might yet work through the church, then Pastor Ridley shared his goals for the church for the next twelve months. The encouraging and exciting day left the congregation looking forward to what God has planned for us next. Pastor Roger Ridley and his wife Sheryl serve with Baptist Church Planters; the church property was partially funded with a gift of $15,000 from Baptist Builders Club.gretna-building

“It was a huge encouragement and motivation for us,” said Pastor Ridley of the gift. “We have now been in the building for one year. . . We have seen several saved, baptized, and added to the church. Being in the building has helped to broaden our ministry tremendously.”
