Ruth 1:16-17 KJV
These words are often used in weddings as the expression of the bride to the bridegroom. They serve that purpose very well. But they are actually the words of a young widow to her mother-in-law, and convey a decisive moment of conversion. Ruth was turning from her people and her god to the Lord God and His people. The testimony of Ruth is exciting to read. As she turned to the Lord, He blessed and worked wonderfully in her life. The Lord is prepared to do the same with each of us as we turn from sin, the world, and gods of our own making to Him.
