God in Us

Read Genesis 41: 1 – 46

And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?  Genesis 41:38 KJV

Having been disappointed with the wisest men Egypt had to offer, which means their religious and educational training all fell short, Pharaoh discovered a man who had spent his young adult years as slave and a prisoner had the most to offer the nation because the Spirit of God was within him. Joseph stood out from the rest, and due to his testimony about God’s involvement in his life, Pharaoh concluded Joseph’s uniqueness was God. What a message that should send to each of us who have the Spirit of God in us because of our relationship with Jesus Christ! Like Joseph, in ourselves we may have nothing to offer. Our training, our background, and heritage may never catch the attention of this world. However, when we trust God, and live yielded to the Spirit, His wisdom will cause us to stand out as being especially equipped to meet the challenges of our time.

Lord, although of myself there is no good thing in me, I am grateful that by your grace the Holy Spirit is in me, and makes all the difference in my life. Help me daily to walk yielded to Him, under His leadership, and in His power.

A question to ponder: When called upon for godly wisdom Joseph was ready, for us to be ready for God’s use at any moment what must be true of us?
