Spoken at the conclusion of the dividing of the Promised Land to the tribes of Israel, this is a testimony to the faithfulness of God. He fulfilled every promise, not one word failed. Because this was true, after all their years of wandering in the wilderness, the people of Israel were finally able to experience God’s Rest. This did not mean that there were not still battles to fight, enemies to conquer, and land to take full possession of, but it did mean that God had kept every promise that He made. He always does. You and I can count on the same thing. When we know this to be true and we experience it personally, then we are able to enjoy rest in Him. A confidence that He will do everything He says.
Lord, I am so glad You are the God who keeps promises. Living in a day when promises are broken on a regular basis how good it is to rest in Your Word knowing that You will do everything You have promised to do.
