Make Me a Blessing

Read Genesis 30: 25 – 34

And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.  Genesis 30:27 KJV

Laban learned by experience the LORD blessed him because of the presence of Jacob in his family business; his livestock had increased from a small number to a multitude, and every part of his business was better. That should be the experience of any businessman, neighbor, or family member who has a child of God in their midst. As Christians we are to be salt and light in the world. We are to have a godly influence and make a positive difference in our families, our neighborhoods, and places of employment. Others are blessed when we maintain a healthy relationship with God, treat people with respect, and put in a full day’s work. When people are blessed because of the relationship we have with the Lord, they will be more open to talking with us about Him. They will want to know what makes us different and we can say having the Lord makes all the difference.

Lord, touch peoples lives for the better through me. I know I don’t deserve to be used in such a way, but I want others to be blessed by you because of my involvement with them.

A question to ponder: What needs to be changed in our walk with the Lord and before others that our life can be a blessing to those we interact with?
