The Easter Message

By August 22, 2013No Comments

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV

This is part of a wonderful chapter on the evidences of Christ’s resurrection and the necessity of it. By this statement, the Gospel is that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that all who believe it will be saved. Very clear isn’t it. Let’s be sure never to add or subtract anything from the simplicity of that definition. Did you notice it contains four essential truths: (1) Jesus died for our sins, (2) He was buried, (3) He rose again the third day, and (4) those who believe it are saved. For every person it comes down to this: do you believe. Have you personally received the good news of salvation by faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ?

Lord, how grateful I am for the clarity and simplicity of the gospel message; there is no reason for any of us to be confused by it. Thank you especially for making the gospel message effective through Your death, burial, and resurrection. May the reality of it be always seen in the way I live.
