The Empty Tomb of Christ

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. Mark 16:6 KJV

Following the death and burial of Christ, after the Sabbath, early in the morning, three women, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went to the sepulcher to anoint His body. They were not prepared for what they found. The stone was already rolled way from the opening. I imagine their hearts were strongly beating as they entered the tomb. There they found a young man dressed in white, an angel, and they were frightened. We would be too. The message was clear, concise, and convincing: you seek Jesus, He is not here, He is raised, see were they laid Him. The message and evidence were expected to remove their fear. Then they were to share this same news with others.

Lord, how the world has changed because of this simple message about You! How my own life has also changed! Your resurrection gives hope, removes fear, and changes lives. Hope me be faithful in sharing this good news with others I come into contact with.
