The New Creation in Christ

By May 3, 2013No Comments

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

This has got to be one of the most encouraging verses from the New Testament for anyone who understands the life of sin from which they were saved. I do not think I exaggerate in the least. When we acknowledge our sinfulness, believe in Jesus, and trust His finished work at the cross, we become something new: a new creature in Christ. The Apostle Paul says the old things are gone. These things include a just condemnation, the corruption of personal sin, and life without purpose. In place of such things everything is new: heaven becomes our home, God gives us meaning and purpose, and we are given a fresh start without bondage to sin. Nothing else can match this new beginning in Christ!

Lord, thank You for making me entirely new when I trusted in You. Things I struggled with for years You took care of in a moment. My life has not been the same I became a Christian because I have not been the same.
