Trusting God in Everything

By January 18, 2017No Comments

Read Genesis 48 – 50

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Genesis 50:20 KJV

These words were spoken by Joseph to his brothers for the evil they had done against him many years earlier. They sold their own brother as a slave to be rid of him, but God used that horrible incident to accomplish good in his life, in the life of his brothers, and in their nation. The life of Joseph demonstrates that when we put our trust in God, that even adverse circumstances can be used to our advantage. Joseph never gave up on God, and through everything, he understood that God would never give up on him. In fact, during adversity he believed God was working for his good. Present-day believers are assured of the same. Romans 8:28 teaches that those who love God and are called according to His purpose can expect all things to work for their good. Trust God in the midst of your adversity, and witness His power to accomplish good things in and through your life.

Lord, help me to trust You in every circumstance. Help me to honor You by my responses to people and problems the way Joseph did.
