First Baptist Church in Niles, Ohio, hosted a missions conference Oct. 11–13. The theme for the conference was “Always Abounding in the Work of the Lord,” with 1 Corinthians 15:58 as the theme verse. Three ministries were represented, two of which the church supports. The other was Baptist Builders Club. The church wanted to know more about BBC–USA to consider how to give help and support. Pastor David Burman Jr. and many church members and made the missions conference an encouraging, uplifting, and God-honoring weekend.

The conference began on Friday evening with a meal and a time of sharing that was followed by a service opportunity at a high school football game. Saturday offered another full day, starting with a breakfast and morning of sharing and praying for each ministry, and ending with a chili cook-off and fellowship at the church. On Sunday morning, BBC–USA Director Michael Nolan preached a message to challenge and encourage members to fulfill their “reasonable service” in their church, neighborhoods, and communities around them, as well as through worldwide missions. On Sunday night he presented BBC–USA’s ministries and then showed a video introducing its new Disaster Relief ministry.

The missions conference concluded with a panel Q&A about each ministry. One question addressed each ministry’s greatest needs. Nolan responded that church planting and support for the Start Up fund is BBC–USA’s greatest need, “as we have church planters active in our fellowship, and we want to be able to support them.” The second-greatest need, he said, is the initial funding for the Disaster Relief ministry to equip Ready Now teams that go to devastated areas to assist churches.
