Regular Baptist Builders Club’s board of administrators considered a record number of applications during its fall meetings, awarding more than $84,000 in grants and loans to six Regular Baptist churches.

First Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Ohio, received the first ever church revitalization Lift Up grant for $4,250. The church is working with the Unstuck Group, one of five consulting firms that will work with leadership to develop a strategy to revitalize the ministry. Bethel Baptist Church in Jamestown, New York, also received a $2,450 Lift Up grant and is working with Howard Bixby of Christway Ministries.

Involve Church in Nampa, Idaho, received a $20,000 Build Up grant to improve its building for office space and a residence area designed to train and equip future church planters and leaders. This summer Involve Church received the first Train Up grant. The grant will support church planter Josh Carpenter for 12 months in the church residency program, designed to help qualified men gain experience in planting and revitalizing churches.

Temple Baptist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, received a $10,000 Build Up grant and a $10,000 loan. The church will renovate its building to make it more suitable for ministry, including improving disability access to restrooms and replacing flooring and lighting.

Memorial Baptist Church in Verona, Wisconsin, was awarded a $20,000 Build Up loan to help finish an auditorium remodeling project with new audio/visual equipment.

Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowie, Maryland, received an $11,000 second-year Start Up grant to help the church move forward with its new church launch.

The board also welcomed two new members, Dan Nichols, who serves with ABWE and Restored Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and Jon Jenks, who serves with Baptist Church Planters and the Wisconsin Association of Regular Baptist Churches. The board is grateful for the years of faithful service by Dan Meade and Ed Fuller, who recently retired from the board.

With the additional members, the board was able to organize two subcommittees that will focus in greater detail on specific grant application categories. This will help Regular Baptist Builders Club to follow up more thoroughly with all grant requests and better serve the churches of the GARBC.
