BBC_inlineDo churches ever return unused funds after receiving Baptist Builders Club grants? Yes, at times they do.

In June 2014 a tornado swept through the Verona, Wisconsin, area, leaving many without shelter, food, water, and electricity. A GARBC sister church, Memorial Baptist, provided shelter, served three meals a day, and ministered to the community for weeks afterward.

Recently Jeremy Scott, Memorial Baptist’s pastor, contacted BBC–USA to let Director Michael Nolan know that $1,339 was left over from the funds BBC–USA had sent. The church wanted to return the surplus to the Disaster Relief Fund.

It may sound a little unusual for a church to give funds back, but that is an example of the kind of fellowship the GARBC is—one with integrity that is thinking ahead and giving back so others can be strengthened.
