“I’m looking out my window and there is a huge plume of smoke.” This is the view Pastor Stan Lightfoot of Rustic Hills Baptist Church, Colorado Springs described to Baptist Builders Club director, Michael Nolan, just yesterday regarding the fires ravaging Colorado (6-13-13).

Many of Rustic Hills Baptist church families have been affected and are either on evacuation alert or have been evacuated from their homes. In two cases, the homes have been completely engulfed in flames and totally lost.

Pastor Lightfoot said the church will be reaching out to their neighbors and they are coming together with sweat equity and financial equity. They are already planning ahead and may need not only financial assistance but also assistance from fellow churches in the form of teams sent to simply come and help.  However, according to Pastor Lightfoot, the needs to be met are still unknown. “We will not know for another 2-3 weeks, as this is still an active fire,” said Pastor Lightfoot.

BBC-USA will be sending some gospel Why?  tracts to assist Pastor Lightfoot and the church with ministering to the community.

After a proper assessment has been made and it is determined exactly what additional assistance is needed in Colorado, BBC-USA will work with Rustic Hills to coordinate efforts to work with and through the church.

We are already praying and asking sister churches to join us. If you would like to also give to help this local church minister to their Colorado Springs community click here. If you would like to sign up and possibly go and help through a local GARBC church in few weeks click here.
