Cleansing from Sin

By November 29, 2012No Comments

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18 KJV

This is a command, but it is a command in which God gives His people a choice: to be reasonable or unreasonable. To be reasonable is to be willing and obedient on our part, to hear and do what God says. To be reasonable on God’s part is His offer of cleansing when all we deserve is condemnation. In verse 10, God tells us to wash ourselves, to make ourselves clean by turning from what is wrong to what is right. Here we see that as we choose to turn it is God that does the actual cleansing. He takes the dark stain of our sin and makes it white as snow. The words are poetic and beautiful and such they should be, for to be cleansed from sin is the most beautiful experience that you and I can enjoy.

Lord, thank You for the opportunity of cleansing from sin. My sins were stained deep and dark in my life and yet as I turned to You they were washed away and You made me clean. Help me keep clean as I walk with You, listening to and obeying Your Word.
